The White Rock Overlook is located in the small community of White Rock which is near, but not in, the city of Los Alamos but is very close to Bandolier National Monument. The overlook consists of a concrete platform with handrails perched on the edge of the gorge created by the Rio Grande. :The views here are absolutely spectacular! The Rio Grande tumbles hundreds of feet below while mesas and high mountains rise to the east. The overlook is at the tip of a formation like a ship’s bow that allows 270 degree views of steep drop-offs. Be sure to look back toward the parking lot from the overlook to see the small waterfalls dropping off the plateau White Rock sits upon.
