1886 - 1901 The "Carriage Set" "For the first 15 years after its grand opening, The Crescent Hotel was operated by The Eureka Springs Improvement Company as an exclusive year-round resort hotel catering to the carriage set. During those Victorian Years, the years of grandeur, the gracious southern hospitality of the Crescent Hotel became well known." Note those purple chimneys!
The lobby of the hotel still boasts it's original furnishings.
The city hosts the 7-story tall, 2 million pound, white concrete statue of Jesus known as Christ of the Ozarks, erected privately in 1966 as part of a planned religious theme park. The theme park never materialized. We viewed the statue from the top of the Crescent Hotel where we ate lunch.
Thought this little Texaco miniature car was cute on the outside of this building.
